Tuck's Pet Bald Eagull
Selenite, garnet, sodalite, sulfur, blue calcite, amethyst, blue apatite, and kyanite on wood.
A raw, texture-heavy reimagining of American iconography that channels a fierce, commanding presence. Striking a sharp profile, the piece utilizes jagged, translucent shards of selenite to construct a formidable white plumage that contrasts sharply with the deep, rich fractures of garnet, sodalite, kyanite, and amethyst. By embedding natural, unyielding elements of the earth into a classic symbol of freedom, this work captures a powerful sense of enduring resilience and renewed national pride. As I finish this just before the 2026 Midterms, I’m very hopeful that America will turn away from the Trump experience of the past decade.
